Soggy Saturday

After Wet Wednesday.....Thursday and Friday.

We did get out for a brief walk today.
Forecast: more rain on the way.
Worst of all, the food portions are smaller. We're looking like kegs again.

Bella: "In Please"

Cheesday, Chewsday, Chooseday--bone break

We went to see Marli yesterday. This is Marli.
Marli keeps her stash of bones on her bed. We don't think she sleeps on the bed, just keeps her bones and toys on it.

This is this weeks collection.
After our first mad game of chasey. We checked out the bones. Marli had first pick....they are her bones, after all.
Then Bella jumped in to get one. Kendra just waits patiently for her turn.

Bella's not too impressed with her choice.

So she came over to see if mine was better. The bones were pretty old. So we went back to playing games.

Bella's bone

But first: We hate this computer! It has dementia. It is out of memory. It forgets what commands have been given. It won't go to certain blogs. It freezes......the list goes on. There, that feels better. Anyway, in a couple of weeks some guy named Tax Refund is coming to give us a new computer. Hope it's soon. This one will be history. It'll go to the e-waste depot. Hopefully, it won't end up with some, unsuspecting, poor people in the third world. They have enough problems. Okay, got that off my chest.
On our walk yesterday at the Sports Ground, Bella found a lamb leg bone. Don't know what it would be doing on a sports field. Bella always finds something on our walks....usually something pretty disgusting. We think Bella could be a Rescue Dog. If anyone was buried holding a sandwich, she'd find them quickly. They'd have to be cuddling a cat for me to find them. Come to think of it, I'd probably just end up saving cats instead of people. Needs some rethinking, this.
Anyway, Bella found this great bone. But she could only carry it around, because everytime she tried to gnaw on it, one of us came up close and she'd run off.

When she tired and it was time to go, it was taken from her when she had her leash put on.
She wasn't too happy about that.

Watch this....

See this car?
Look closely.....

Can you see it?

A sneaky cat. It didn't fool Bella and I at all. But we couldn't do anything about it!
I think we scared it, though.

Yesterday's walk

We've been missing out on walks this week, would you believe. SHE says it's too cold for her in the morning and she has to go to work. THEN says it's too late when she gets home. There is some serious abuse going on here at the moment.
However, yesterday evening we finally went for a walk. It was going to be a short circuit of the reserve. But we met a cute little Jack Russell. His name was either Louie or Lolly. He was accompanied by a teenaged boy who only spoke Mumble.
That little guy was just rearing to play. We chased him all over the place....then he chased us. We rolled, jumped and played bitey face. I tired fairly quickly and went off to explore. Kendra just ambled along as usual. But Bella and the JR were wild. They found the only muddy spot and naturally had a game there. Then raced around us until Bella piked out. First time I've seen Bella tired first! Sorry there aren't any pictures.....someone forgot the camera!
MILLIE PUPDATE
Millie graduated from Puppy Pre-school the other night. Her humans said they thought she was probably just 'pushed through'. Millie, as usual, teamed up with the largest of the puppies to have a wild game. Her teacher said Millie had an 'attitude'.
(No pictures of the class, so we used this old one.) Anyway, we're wondering if we've got another Puddles Duddles Rainwater here, in the making!

Looks like a doxie angel when she's asleep.......but she's resting up for more devilment.

What's in there?

Bella has a look.
Kendra checks it out.

Ooooooh, I wonder what's attached to that?
Our friend Marli's neighbour.

Cheeseday, Chooseday, Chewsday

Breakfast
Do you guys get breakfast? We only get one of these little bones each.
Usually we get them after our morning walk, but recently it's been too cold for HER. So she bribes us with breakfast before we go out. We take the bones, but still lobby for a walk until she gives in.
Sometimes when we come back from a walk, we pretend we didn't get bones and do the 'we're starving look'. Doesn't work. Can't fool HER.

Hurry up, put that flashy box AWAY and open the gate!

You want teeth?

You want teeth? I'll give you teeth.
(I get the drop on Bella.)

New Game

Bella invented a new game....at least it's new to us.
It's called Hide the Doxie.
So watch carefully, she's only going to demonstrate it once.
After you have chosen a doxie...and Millie being a 13-week old miniature, is just the right size. You have to get her down and in position.

Get her in a headlock while you manoeuvre across her body.
Nearly there, with a flick of your head, the doxie should completely disappear.
Hey Bella, can we do that again? It's fun!

Oskar's all about our human day

Hi, our friend Oskar came up with the idea of giving our human's a bit of credit for their assistance in blogging. So we thought we'd tell you about ours--even if she's a bit boring.
We live in the middle of the state of New South Wales, Australia. Only Kendra was born near here. We only have the one human. She's not too bad, but sometimes a bugger to train. She was born in Washington, DC about 100 years ago. She grew up in Northern VA, attended Radford (when it was still a college) and taught for awhile in Bath County. (She has huge numbers of relatives in VA and some in TX.)
She loves scotties. We're numbers seven, eight and nine. She's not sure if there'll be a ten, but you never know. Basically she loves all animals.
She loves to travel and heads overseas whenever she can't stay put any longer. She says that it restores her faith in human beings to meet so many wonderful people all around the world who are just trying to do the right thing. (We go camping when these moods hit her.)
She was a classroom teacher and then an Itinerant Teacher for Blind and Vision Impaired kids. Now she's partially retired. That means she has to work sometimes so she can travel and have lots of scotties.
At home, she loves spending time with us: walking, or playing or (ugh) grooming. She says 'happiness is a lapful of scotties.' We give her lots of happiness.
She's tried lots of crafts, but loses interest in them after she learns to make some reasonable looking things. Mostly she loves to read. Fiction, Non-fiction, crime, history, sociology, biographies.....lots of things. She's now into blogging and surfing the net to find new adventures to go on. She doen't watch much television.
Her motto for life comes from the film 'Auntie Mame' (Rosalind Russell) "Life's a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death!"
And here she is, being used as a launching pad by Bella during a wild game of chasey!

Anyway, she may not be exciting; but we love her.

Scottie humour

See that? It's one of HER sock thingys. When I was a puppy, I used to bury them in the garden. I only ever buried one of a pair. I always left her with one. Well, I'm seven now and we're still unearthing socks. Found this one just the other day. It took her a few years to get the joke, but she eventually saw the funny side. We all laughed when this sock turned up. (Actually, it is much cleaner than usual.) Is it the last? I haven't got a clue. I can't count. We scotties are humorous dogs.

Chewsday--chicken necks

We had a chicken neck a piece tonight for dinner. Our Vet recommends them.
Health food that we love!
Hurry up, take the picture!

We always eat the chicken neck first. Don't want anyone to take it.
If you haven't ever tried them,we highly recommend them.
